Due to the nature of my homework I have had to walk away from the tasks of character profiling, outlining, research and note-taking for my story. For me, that hasn't been easy to just leave, especially when it is a story I want to tell. It's even worse when the story is getting good.
This past weekend afforded me some much needed free time. Time away from school that I needed to re-connect with my characters, re-connect with my story and relax. Though I did pay bills, do laundry, Tweet and tend to Facebook (as I could); my main focus was the story. And, even right now, it still is. More so, now that I have re-connected with these special people in it.
As soon as I opened my "book" Saturday afternoon, I was in trouble. There were so many things I wanted to note, change, add, and then trying not to work on it until NaNoWriMo begins in November was a challenge. However, I paced myself and got what needed to be done...done.
I have transitioned everything from paper to the computer and it looks better in terms of legibility. I can also add, subtract and notate without it looking like a mess. I even furthered my progress on the story, so I am quite pleased with what I have done.
Of course, as always, balancing the schoolwork and writing is tough. I won't lie. But, I am confident I will get through it all.
