Novel Idea :)

I have been wanting a chance to write a novel and get published. Lately, it has been preoccupying my mind, so much so that I have been re-thinking my priorities and how I spend my day.

Yesterday I got an email about "NaNoWriMo"--National Novel Writing Month (November 1st-30th), and I decided to see what it was all about. And thus my journey now begins...to write a 175 page/50,000 word novel. How the hell I am going to come up with something good is beyond me, lol.  But I think I can manage :) It's all about taking a chance, this particular "challenge" is quantity over quality to get used to writing; this prepares me for a bigger challenge in life.

I have a few good ideas, but I need time to outline my story, research and plan my characters. That is where the majority of my time is going to be spent during this month. For those who are playing games on Facebook, it might mean I can't always join the new game, send an item, or help out on something--so please don't ask as I will have to ignore the request (with a lot of sadness though). I do feel bad because I know some people have come to rely on me for help, for that I am sorry.

However, I feel it is time to make a change. I've learned everything happens for a reason. 20 years ago, I learned a lesson from a movie. I watched it, even knowing my favorite actor was playing a bad character. And, it even has an NCIS connection, but that is another blog :)

The lesson I learned was "our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall". It was that lesson that strengthened my resolve in those horrific days following 9/11, and a lesson I hold within my heart. So much so, it has defined who I am as a person. I know it will be a challenge to make this journey, but that is part of life. I am accepting it and embracing it. To be honest, I have no more excuses not to.

I have already found a title for my novel and thus I begin doing what my characters will so do...find each other ... through faith and love.
